Basketball Update

St. Camillus intramural basketball junior girls team, Bryan’s Auto, dominated a recent game, defeating Baskin & Robbins 13-2 despite the defensive moves of Mary Ellen Dunne and Katie Fitzgerald. Shawna Hughes and Michelle Kenel pushed hard for the win.

The Beach Club squeaked out a close shave victory over Dr. Schilling 19-18. Mary Gillen, Michelle Cashen and Kelly Carman led the way for The Beach Club over the notable plays of Angela Stietzel and Mairead Greaney.

Current standings for junior girls are Dr. Schilling 6-2, Beach Club 3-5, Bryan’s Auto 6-2, and Baskin & Robbins 2-6.

Senior girls team, The Wave, grabbed a three print victory over The Irish Circle with a strong offense by Danielle Daly, Kim Bair, Allan Quinn and Sam Swensen. The Circle’s Dana Hirsch, Amanda Webber-Bey, Corine Howley and Morgan Shannon gave it their all. The game ended in a final score of 28-22.

The Knights of Columbus poured it on in the fourth quarter to take a victory over the American Legion. The Knights’ Mary Carson, Katie Scherpf and Sue Hurley dominated the game. The good efforts of Kara Bobby, Katie O’Sullivan and Tiffanie Carman fell short.

Current standings for senior girls are Knights of Columbus 5-3, American Legion 2-6, Irish Circle 5-3, and The Wave 4-4.
