Bat Mitzvah Of Alanna Klein
West End Temple was aglow with strong religious traditions and an air of jubilation for the Klein family. Alanna Klein, the beautiful daughter of Sylvan and Rose Klein, was celebrating her Bat Mitzvah.
Having been a congregant at the West End Temple since her birth, Alanna is well-versed in Jewish principles and traditions. In preparation for her Bat Mitzvah, Alanna spent a year focused on in-depth readings on religious topics, preparing for her reading of the Haftorah and having conversations with Rabbi Weiss, which would allow her to take her place as a spiritual and focused Jewish woman.
Congratulations to Alanna Klein for a magnificent presentation at her Bat
Mitzvah service. She is a capable, articulate, self assured, gracious and knowledgeable young lady. Everyone who attended the service was moved by her flawless and impressive delivery.
Rabbi Weiss welcomed Alanna to her new role in the temple. He looks forward to her being a leader. He praised her careful and diligent preparation and welcomed her pledge to continue her commitment to Judaism. Rabbi Weiss noted that Alanna comes from a family with deep religious roots at the West End Temple. He remembered the dedication of her deceased grandfather Max Levine. Alanna's grandmother, Ann Levine, has served with distinction as an officer of the West End Temple. She has also served as the president of the Ladies Guild. Alanna's father, Sylvan Klein is a distinguished counselor at Midwood High School and has served as an esteemed and outstanding president of the West End Temple. Her mother, Rose Klein, is the dedicated publisher of the West End Temple newsletter entitled "Temple Topics."
Alanna has an illustrious and proud family tradition at the West End Temple. As Lynn and Hal Kramberg noted, one of the most memorable parts of Alanna's Bat Mitzvah is the fact that each time she, her family and fellow congregants go to the temple they will recall this beautiful and happy day which they shared. Each visit to the temple will reawaken a sense of Jewish belonging and identification.
Rose Klein, the very talented and versatile mother of Alanna, was honored recently at a Reform Jewish Appeal breakfast at the temple. Rose is a computer wiz. She has developed an outstanding temple web site and continuously updates the information on it. Her expanded editions of Temple Topics are interesting, readable and thought provoking. She includes items on all the happenings at the temple. Temple Topics includes conversations with Rabbi Weiss. When you read them, you feel that you have shared a personal and warm communication with the Rabbi. Dr. John Shure, the president, writes a column highlighting current happenings of importance.
Delightfully one of the columns leaves you smiling as you read the latest "Laughter on the Internet." (As I have noted previously) Temple Topics is one bulletin that I read as soon as it arrives.
Congratulations to the Klein family on this momentous occasion. We were happy to celebrate with you. We look forward to sharing many more wonderful events together.
