Track Work Alters ‘A’ Line Service

Track Work Alters ‘A’ Line Service

Track work on the South Channel bridge, which connects Broad Channel to Rockaway, will affect ‘A’ line and Rockaway Park Shuttle service on the weekends of January 13-14, January 20-21, and January 27-28. Service will be affected from 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday each weekend.

Due to this work, there will be no subway service from the Rockaway boulevard station to the Rockaways. Special free shuttle buses will provide service between Rockaway boulevard and the Rockaways and a special shuttle train will operate between the Far Rockaway-Mott avenue and Rockaway Park-Beach 116 street stations.

All ‘A’ train service will operate to Lefferts boulevard. The free shuttle bus (#1) will operate from Rockaway boulevard and Cross Bay boulevard (southwest corner) with stops at Cross Bay boulevard and Noel road, Broad Channel; Beach 98 street-Playland station, Rockaway Beach; and Rockaway Freeway and Beach 90 street, Rockaway Beach.

Free shuttle bus #2 will operate from Rockaway boulevard to the Howard Beach-JFK and Aqueduct-North Conduit avenue stations.

"We understand the inconvenience this work may cause, and appreciate our customers’ patience," said Lois Tendler, director, Government and Community Relations, MTA New York City Transit.
