Next Stop-Diversity

Dear Editor;

As I continue my travels through the borough of Queens, I am continually amazed at its ethnic and cultural diversity and the beauty thereof. Especially when it comes to food offerings.

The number 7 line is truly the "International Express" as it roars to and from Flushing and Manhattan with riders representing colors and shades and languages from around the globe.

Not to be taken for granted, Rockaway has its fair share of ethnic and cultural diversity. Unfortunately it’s not as institutionally pronounced. Nor is it (distinct cultural artifacts, commodities, etc.) as widely consumed, exchanged or appreciated. Here’s an idea for someone to consider (maybe the community board?), a committee of truly qualified individuals gathered together to nurture and promote true cultural and ethnic diversity, exchange and appreciation.

Whoever would have thought that McCluhan’s "global village" would be realized in Queens, New York?
