An unidentified body of a white male, approximately 50 years of age, was found early Thursday morning, December 14, 2000 on the northbound sidewalk of Cross Bay boulevard a mile south of the North Channel Bridge in Broad Channel.

Police described the corpse as 5’7", 150 pounds, with a thin build, grayish hair and a beard. The body was clad in a dark green jacket, blue jeans, and white sneakers. Detectives from the 100 Precinct would not comment on the probable cause of death.

The remains have been transported to the medical examiners office. Anyone who thinks they may know the identity of the body is asked to call Detective Rice at 718-318-4224. Information can also be given to Detective Borough Queens 24 hours a day at 718-520-9200. Refer to Case #1344.
