St. Camillus Basketball

St. Camillus’ junior girls basketball team, Dr. Schilling, got a slow start but squeaked a 14 to 13 win over Baskin Robbins. Strong offense and defense were displayed by both teams.

Bryan’s Auto was romped by The Beach Club 21 to six. Kelly Carman and Mary Gillen showed good offensive moves, while Shauna Hughes and Heather Molloy worked hard on defense.

Current standings for junior girls are as follows: Dr. Schilling 3-0; Baskin Robbins 1-2; Beach Club 1-2; and Bryan’s Auto 1-2.

A mildly strong offense by Katie Scherpf and Sue Hurley of the senior girls team Knights of Columbus proved too slight as the Irish Circle led by Jen Tyne, Amanda Weber-Bey and Marissa Weber-Bey, won 19 to 17.

The American Legion’s Bonnie Stringer and Kate O’Sullivan tried their best but proved no match against The Wave’s Sam Swensen and Allana Quinn. The Wave won 26-14.

Current standings for senior girls are as follows: American Legion 2-1; The Wave 2-1; Knights of Columbus 1-2; and Irish Circle 1-2.
