Slobs Come In All Races

Dear Editor;

Although I never pictured myself writing in to defend The Wave, I feel I must do so now.

In response to D. Gaertner’s letter from the November 25 issue, please let me borrow your rose colored glasses in which you view Rockaway with.

Yes, I have witnessed slobs/pigs and two legged rats stop in the corner bodega, buy a "25-cent juice" and a bag of chips, and proceed to throw it on the floor when finished. On the same page I’ve also witnessed white youngsters, who in the course of bar-hopping go into local stores and order hero sandwiches, beef patties, or slices of pizza and then throw the leftover mess onto the floor.

I believe The Wave used the bodega reference because it is less than 30 feet from The Wave building. Politically incorrect? I’ve always seen The Wave as too politically correct.
