Eight Rockaway Park residents were arrested Tuesday evening at approximately 6:30 p.m., the culmination of a joint investigation by the Queens NYPD Narcotics Unit and the 100 Precinct.

100 Precinct Commanding Officer Captain John Miller explained that because of the rash of recent burglaries in the area he had contacted the narcotics unit for some assistance in preventing street crime.

"Over the past two to three months we have asked the narcotics unit to give us some attention and they were able to make several street level drug purchases," said Captain Miller.

Three different locations were "busted", including residences from Beach 113 street to Beach 115 street. Arrested and charged with felony drug sales, for a variety of different drugs, were: Miguel Rizzo, 17; Auriello Ortiz, 24; Joel Roman, 18; Ronnie Victoria, 21; Suzanne Ortiz, 24; and Miguel Feria, 50. Two additional arrests were made and misdemeanor charges were filed. The names of these individuals were not released to The Wave.
