Today, Saturday, October 28, the Rockaway Beach Civic Association, in conjunction with the 100 Precinct, Kiwanis Club, and Assemblywoman Audrey Pheffer, will host the Sixth Annual Halloween Parade and Costume Contest, from 12 noon to 2 p.m. The parade and contest will be held at the Doughboy monument at Beach 94 street and Rockaway Beach boulevard. There will be "lots of goodies" and prizes for best costumes.
In case of rain, the event will be held at the American Legion Hall, 301 Beach 92 street.
Also Saturday, October 28, the Beach 41 Street Houses will have a Haunted House Halloween Parade from 12 noon to 5 p.m. at the community center on Beach 40 street.
On Tuesday, October 31, the Rockaway Artists Alliance with Gateway National Recreation Area will host an interactive Halloween Extravaganza. This year’s event, entitled "La Maison des Lunes" ("House of the Moon"), is a funhouse gone awry. Sponsored by the Rockaway Chamber of Commerce, this ghoulish event for the entire family is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Building 1 in Fort Tilden.
