Alternative Softball Report

Mets are heading to the World Series.

In the words of Judge Mills Lane, "Lets Get It On." That’s right baby! The city so nice they named it twice, NY, NY, will be getting down and dirty for the next 10 days or so, hosting the greatest sporting event of all time, the Major League Baseball World Series. It's something that us great Americans, and New Yorkers, have dreamed about for many a year. I better stop all that I sound like one of those phonies running for president!

I myself have already been blessed during this postseason, with three trips to Shea, to watch my Amazins, and even a trip to the boogie-down, to as you Yankee fans like to call it The Stadium. I would personally like to thank those who came through with tickets for yours truly. You know who you are -- names withheld! Call me with those Series tickets.

We are taught as journalists that we must remain unbiased, and to have integrity! So you know what, I ain’t no journalist, yes ain’t. Mets fans rise up and all together, Lets go Mets. Who let the Mets out? Mets, Mets, Mets, Mets!" Meet the Mets, meet the Mets, come on down and greet the Mets. Bring the kiddies, bring the wife, guaranteed to have the time of your life, so when the Mets are really socking that ball hitting homeruns over the wall, eastside-westside, everybody’s coming down to watch the M-E-T-S, Mets of NY town!

Everybody down the hatch with a Schaeffer after singing that song. Timo-Timo, that is the chant that all will hear to start it all up Saturday evening in the Bronx. If you do not have a ticket, I hear a great place to watch a game is The New Irish Circle! So whether you are on the 7-train, or the 4-train, or driving to the game, lets get up New Yorkers and be heard, because this is what it is all about baby!

Woooooooooooow! I've got goosebumps even thinking about it. With all of this to come I can honestly say we would be doing all of the fans of the ASR a huge injustice. No not that wife beater Dave Justice, sorry had to sneak one in. That is in trying to write one of our ASR GEMS -not web gems! So until next week this is all we've got. We have the World Series, do yourselves a favor and do not miss a minute!

And for those of you who are not baseball fans -- deal with it!

Signed, Mookie "Snacks" Wilson
