Thanks For Noticing

Dear Editor;

I was happy to see that Howard Schwach noticed my presence in the Broad Channel Labor Day Parade. Mr. Schwach mentioned how I was sort of incognito, since I was without staff. I had made a decision to give several staffers a break from some events during the weekend, since I was fighting a fever at the time, and wasn’t sure I would make the parade. I decided it was better to go to the parade and meet 50 or 60 people by simply shaking hands (the way I met Mr. Schwach) than not to attend. Broad Channel means a great deal to me, and I preferred to make a quiet showing than no showing at all.

I would also like to mention that I attended the finishing ceremonies of the Broad Channel parade, which was held the following Saturday at the Grassy Point Bar. With the exception of District Leader Lew Simon, I was the only political candidate in attendance.
