$10,000 Stolen From
Armored Mini Van

Sunday was a very bad day for an unsuspecting payroll collector who had his armored mini-van and $10,000 stolen from him.

According to police at the 101 Precinct, the mini-van driver stopped his vehicle in front of Kentucky Fried Chicken at 13-12 Beach Channel drive at approximately 2:43 p.m., in broad daylight. The driver told police that he left the van running and the door opened when he went into KFC to pick up their payroll. Gone just a few moments, the unmarked van disappeared, with $10,000 cash which was inside the vehicle in a brown paper McDonald’s bag.

Police recovered the van just a short distance away within a short time of the report of the incident. The $10,000 was missing, but the brown paper bag was left behind.

Anyone with information relative to this incident is encouraged to call Detective Savine at the 101 Precinct at 718-868-3429.
