Chatting With Chapey by Dr. Geraldine M. Chapey Educators Register For KCC Classes Kingsborough Community College began its first academic year in the new millennium with a faculty convocation. Kingsborough has an excellent record. Kingsborough has and is creating an atmosphere of student learning, outcome and success. As we begin the new millennium we are looking to the future so that our graduates can take their place in the current economic development of New York City. The president quoted from a book entitled "Prosperity’ written by Bob David and David Wesel, both of whom published in the Wall Street Journal. In their writings, they note that today’s community colleges bridge the gap between high school and employment. It is their opinion that the community colleges are the Dr. Geraldine Chapey, director of the Professional Development Program, announces that for the fall 2000, Kingsborough will be offering courses at Heartshare at 82-12 151 avenue in Howard Beach. The fall, 2000 course listing is as follows: Monday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Psychology 32 - Human Growth and Development and on Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Science 70 - The Science of Nutrition. Each course is a three-credit course. Registration will be on Monday, September 18 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. All registration will be conducted The fees are as follows: Non Matriculated: $40 application fee plus $120 per credit; Matriculated: $40 application fee plus $105 per credit. All fees must be paid at registration. Classes begin on September 25, 2000 and end on December 20, 2000. Final exams are on December 21, 2000. Please bring a high school diploma, GED certificate or a previous college A description of the courses offered are: Psychology 32 is a three-credit course entitled "Human Growth and Development". It looks at human development from infancy through childhood, adolescence and adulthood. Intellectual growth, personal and social adjustment, the Science 70 - the Science of Nutrition is a three-credit course.
