Stolen Sentimentals

Dear Editor;

In the early morning hours of Friday, August 24, 2000, somebody entered our home on Beach 134 street and stole various items of property. Specifically, a Sony Hi-8mm video camera, an old Minolta 35mm camera with a Mickey Mouse strap, a new Minolta 35mm camera, a diamond wedding band, etc.

Inside the video camera was a Fuji Hi-8mm videotape containing irreplaceable video footage of our children. This letter is an open request to all residents of Rockaway Beach who may know anything about this incident, or who may have any of the property.

The videotape is priceless and the jewelry of such sentimental value, that a reward is hereby offered for their return or any information leading to their return. It is requested that such items be returned to us no questions asked.

This event was apparently one of a string of similar incidents on this block. As lifelong residents of Rockaway Beach, we have been amazed at the immediate response of all our neighbors to this violation. In this spirit, we are reaching out to anyone, even the person who did it, for return of the property.
