Patrick Clark of Rockaway will be starring in "Of Glass and Glaze," a made for television documentary on WLIW21 on Monday, August 28 at 10 p.m. This is the story of the magnificent stained glass restoration at St. Jean Baptiste Church on Lexington and 76 street in New York City.

A dead bird found near Fort Tilden tested positive for West Nile Virus. This is the first documented case of West Nile in our area, resulting in spraying from Beach 95 street going west. The spraying notification came late Friday of last week, when The Wave was already on newsstands. For daily updates of spraying in New York City, tune into WCBS (880 AM) at 6:56 a.m. and 6:56 p.m.

Scott and Todd’s Morning Show on WPLJ (95.5 FM) was broadcast live over the radio from the home of Ginger Mars of Beach 133 street on Thursday, August 24. Ginger was the winner of a WPLJ contest that gave her the opportunity to meet and host these two famous radio personalities.

We’re sorry to hear about the shoplifter at Fashion Wave on Beach 116 street. The block needs a full-time beat cop who knows all the merchants and is readily available to assist them.

Keep Saturday, September 23 open on your calendar. A birthday party fundraiser for Steven Morales will be held in Far Rockaway. Steven, who has an inoperable brain tumor, is seeking alternative medical treatment in Houston, Texas. The day’s activities will include games, rides, clowns, entertainment and much more. Further information will be published as it becomes available.

This Sunday, August 27, there will be a multi-cultural music festival in Far Rockaway, Beach 10 to Beach 15 street, from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Music, ethnic foods, arts and crafts, as well as a wheelchair race on the boardwalk hosted by Multivitz Health Services, will fill the day.

John McLoughlin and Joani George are going on vacation next week, but not to fear. The Wave will be left in the ample hands of Leon Locke, leading the crew, with guest appearances from non-other than Kevin Boyle and Heather Dalton. What could go wrong? Look out Lew!

Be extra generous when you see representatives from the Garden Club out selling their raffles for a quilt. This fundraising effort is to keep them going on their beautification project. And, what a great job they did this year on the Cronston Triangle, Beach 116 street, and Beach Channel drive.

BCAC kicks off its football season this weekend with the 11 and 12 year olds headed out to Levittown. The Wave will be publishing a complete listing of both the home and away games and one and all are invited to come on down to Broad Channel and cheer on all of the Shamrock teams. Go Shamrocks!
