      The Breezy Point Co-operative annual meeting took place on the ballfield last week and there were overwhelming votes for the renovation and expansion of the medical center, which is greatly needed. A majority of the residents are of mature age as well as a great number of little children. Both these age categories are in supreme need for medical assistance. It is going to be a wonderful boost to the good health of the community.

      Once again the heavy rains have increased the infestation of mosquitoes in Rockaway, Broad Channel and Breezy Point. Many parents are afraid to let their children play normal sports activities because they are afraid of mosquito bites. Seniors who have heart conditions or asthma or other breathing problems are afraid of fatal cases of West Nile Virus.
