New Officers Of Dayton West Men’s Club
I had the privilege of installing the new officers of the Dayton Towers West Men’s Club on Saturday, July 15, 2000. I presided over the installation and requested that each of the new officers swear allegiance to the aims and duties of the club and promise to carry out their responsibilities to the best of their ability. The new officers are Hyman Rosenblum, president; Walter Zingman, vice president; Norman Schwartz, treasurer; Joseph Schneiderman, corresponding secretary; and Eugene Heym, sergeant- at -arms.
Dayton Towers Men’s Club has been in existence for 30 years. The founding president who led the organization very capably during its formative years was the late Murray Kaplan. Another very able and industrious president was the late Paul Gross. Paul was a very faithful member of our Democratic club - The Regular Democratic Club of the Rockaways. Paul was a family man who had very strong ties to the community. Hy Rosenblum, the current president, is a dynamic and forceful leader with an enthusiasm to
reach out to others. He and Sadie, his wife, have an energy and enthusiasm
for life that is contagious.
The installation was accompanied by a great buffet. We all enjoyed a
tasty meal thanks go to Hy and Sadie Rosenblum and Harriet and Norman
Schwartz for beautifying and setting up the room and for presenting the
delicious meal. Harriet and Norman Schwartz and Hy and Sadie Rosenblum are dynamic duos. Their effervescence, eagerness and finesse make every event sparkle.
The Dayton Towers West Men’s Club is a social and charitable organization. They sponsor bagel Bingo, trips to Atlantic City and the AARP Safe Driving Course. The next session of the AARP Safe Driving Course will be given on September 19 and September 20. The subsequent one will be on November 14 and
15. The classes start at 9:30 a.m. and end at 1:30 p.m. In order to get credit
for the course you must be 50 years old or over and you must attend 2
sessions either on September 19 and 20 or the other two sessions on November 14 and 15. The cost for each person to attend is $10 per course. Your attendance will also qualify you for a reduction in your auto insurance. In order to register for the course you must make a reservation by calling Hy Rosenblum or Norman Schwartz. Please consult the telephone directory for their phone numbers.
Congratulations to Hy Rosenblum, Walter Zingman, Norman Schwartz, Joseph Schneiderman and Eugene Heym on being re-elected as officers of the Dayton Towers West Men’s Club. Each of the officers is a talented, skilled and competent person who goes the extra mile to serve their neighbors and their community. Thanks also goes to their wives who provide that extra measure of support that allows their collective efforts to be successful.
