Tavern Tales

By James Kalisak

After a devastating double loss to the daggers last week the Tavern on the Bay A-s vowed that it wouldn’t happen again this week.

So for an early game it seemed that the Tavern A-s had something going against the Grassy Point Rockies as the A-s took an early3-1 lead by the third. But then a couple of
errors and the A-s were down. By the time the Tavern recuperated the game was over the Rockies won 8-3.

Now when the A-s took the field for the second game no ones head was hanging down because the Tavern knew they could bounce back and they did. Right away the ball started rolling and the bats swinging…Jim Lynch and Joe McBride combined to get the A-s out from 3-0 in the late innings.

The Rockies came back -- but to no avail -- the defense of the A-s was rock solid, including an outstanding diving catch by yours truly James Kalisak, to keep it at 3-2 as the A-s won. The A-s fined themselves with an 8-8 record and in fourth place in their division. A perfect spot for the playoffs!
