Body Found In Bag
Detectives from the 100 Precinct confirmed Wednesday that the contents of a plastic bag found in the overgrown weeded area at Beach 87 street and the bay was indeed that of a human female. Police were alerted to the scene by a surveyor working in the area who came upon the suspicious plastic bag wrapped up in tape early Tuesday morning, June 20 at approximately 10:30 a.m.
According to police, the investigation is now in the hands of the medical examiner’s office. As of press time on Thursday there was no identification made. In fact, the police still did not know the approximate age or race of the body. However, the case is being treated as a homicide, very infrequent of late in the 100 Precinct.
Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to call Officer Mike Verna of the 100 Precinct Detective Squad at 718-318-4225.
