Sick Of Garbage

Dear Editor:

This letter is a long time in coming. My neighbors here on 122 street an I have been calling the sanitation department for years, trying to get the two apartment houses on the boardwalk to refrain from putting out their garbage 24 hours ahead of pickup.

Now that the summer is here we have to pass the long line up of trash and garbage on our way to the beach, every Tuesday and Friday, when pickup is sometime on Wednesday and Saturday.

Our complaints to the local sanitation district #14, as well as the New York City complaint board have gone unheeded.

Aside from being a health hazard, it is an eyesore, and visitors think that Rockaway Park is a slum. This would not happen in Neponsit.

Does anyone out there know how we can get some action on this? We have had it long enough.
