Mother’s Day Shooting

Innocent 14 Year Old Injured

Detectives from the 101 Precinct are hot on the trail of 16 year old Fabian Scarlett of 2233 Mott avenue in connection with a shooting that took place at Grassmere terrace, Far Rockaway on Mother’s Day.

According to police, witnesses to the shooting related that a man jumped out of a car that pulled up in front of 558 Grassmere terrace at 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 14 and fired shots at an yet unidentified target. One of the bullets richocheted off the building and injured a 14 year old boy. Fabian Scarlett, of 2233 Mott avenue, is the main suspect at this time. He has a history with the 101 Precinct and local police have labeled him a "Most Wanted" fugitive from justice and are asking the community for assistance in locating him.

Anyone with information on Scarlett’s whereabouts is asked to call Detective McClean at the 101 Precinct detective squad at 868-3429 or the CRIMESTOPPERS Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS. Any information related to the CRIMESTOPPERS Hotline that results in the arrest and indictment of a most wanted individual are eligible for a reward up to $1500. All information can be kept confidential and all suspects are to be considered innocent until proven guilty.
