Siena Signs Breezy Pt. Soccer Star

Siena College’s athletic department announced their men’s soccer team signed Sean Thompson of Breezy Point to a national letter-of-intent on March 29, making this their third player to enter the freshman class of 2004.

Thompson, a 6-0 defender, is currently a senior at Archbishop Molloy High School, where he is a co-captain. Thompson was named First Team All-City and All-CHSAA Brooklyn/Queens by the New York Daily News. He was also selected to the First Team All City in Newsday’s 1999 Soccer All-Stars.

"Sean is a skillful defender who will be fighting for an outside fullback position," head coach Charlie Curto said. "He is tactically aware of everything around him and he is able to link up midfielders from behind."

Thompson was also a member of Team New York City at the United States Youth Games and was captain of the Silver Lake Stars at the Holland Cup.
