Marie C. Bagley

Formerly Of Belle Harbor

Mass of Christian Burial for Marie C. Bagley was celebrated on Tuesday, April 18, 2000, at St. Camillus Church.

Marie was a former Belle Harbor resident who lived in Staten Island the past six years. She worked as a secretary for the American Medical Women’s Association.

She is predeceased by her husband, the late Peter, and her daughter, the late Patricia.

Marie is survived by her sons Peter and Francis; daughters Margaret Ann Kulish, Veronica Bagley, and Marie Lynch; sister Patricia Ingianni; and 10 grandchildren.

Interment under the direction of Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home, Inc. was held at Mt. St. Mary’s Cemetery, Flushing.

Anaise A. Charles

From Far Rockaway

Service for Anaise A. Charles was held on Saturday, April 15, 2000, at French Speaking Baptist Church in Far Rockaway.

Anaise was a dressmaker who moved here from her native Haiti. Her children were her life. There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for them.

She is survived by her children Carline Gabriel Charles Henry, Keurlin Charles, Evelyn Charles, Ruth Charles, Gaius Charles, and Alberta Charles; grandchild Merlande Charles; sisters Destoral Donatien, Vilius Desravin, and Carmene Alicianas; brother Vilme’us Aliciana; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.

Interment under the direction of Jeremiah C. Gaffney’s Funeral Home was held at All Saints Cemetery, Great Neck, New York.

Wendy Leigh Condoleo

Of Far Rockaway

Wendy Leigh Condoleo died on Friday, April 7, 2000 at Peninsula Hospital Center.

She was a 35-year resident of Far Rockaway. Wendy worked as a meat wrapper at Value Plus Market in Lawrence.

She is survived by her parents Ernest Condoleo and Virginia Oniszko; sister Joy Murphy; and brothers Robert Condoleo and Charles Sendel.

Private services were held under the direction of Meserole Funeral Home, Inc., of Inwood.

Ola Mae Foster

Far Rockaway Resident

Service for Ola Mae Foster was held on Wednesday, April, 12, 2000.

Ola Mae was a Far Rockaway resident, coming from North Carolina. She worked as a counselor for the Edgemere/Arverne Community Center and as an Auxiliary Police Officer at the 101 Precinct.

She is predeceased by her sister Betty Shaw.

Ola Mae is survived by her sons Steve, Calvin, and Bill; grandchildren Kyenshia, William, Steve, Ahkim, Melissa, and Kevin; sister Ricarda; brothers Danny and Lawrence Shaw; aunts Helen, Nell, and Vivian; uncles Harold and Luster; and a host of close relatives and friends.

Interment under the direction of Jeremiah C. Gaffney’s Funeral Home was held at Plain Lawn Cemetery, Hicksville, New York.

Ronald Harold Hall

Of Far Rockaway

Service for Ronald Harold Hall was held on Friday, April 14 at First Baptist Church in Far Rockaway.

Ronald, lovingly known as Ron, was raised and educated in the Rockaways. He graduated from Far Rockaway High School and then went on to graduate from Manhattan College. During these years, he also attended music school, gospel workshops, and seminars. His musical ministry included singing, playing the piano and organ, and teaching others to do the same.

He was the musician for the Voices of Local 420 approximately 12 years, the Julius Miller Cathedral Choir of the Macedonia Baptist Church for over 18 years, and the ARTC Choir. In addition, Ron recorded gospel music of the Triboro Mass Choir, Jammat and Reverend Jeffrey Roberson, and the New Life Singers. His musical gifts afforded him the opportunity to travel internationally.

Ron was employed by the Human Resources Administration of the City of New York for over 18 years.

He is survived by his mother Gladys Hall; wife Yvette Wiggs Hall; children Tiona, Sean, Naquan, Rashidah; sisters Edith and Brenda; brother Clifford; grandchildren Tianna and Tyquan; nephews Taji and Juwan; niece Nicole; great-nephew Dashwan; aunt Lillian; uncles Norman, Marvin, and Theodore; numerous cousins; his current loving companion Elaine Rice and her children Javan, Bernard, and Arthur and Marie Gilliam; and a host of loving family members and dear friends.

Interment under the direction of Jeremiah C. Gaffrey’s Funeral Home, Inc. was held at Pinny Green Cemetery, Lyons, Georgia.

John L. Jackson

Family From Here

Private services for John L. Jackson were held on Sunday, April 16, 2000.

John lived the military life and bravely served his country for 30 years. He moved his family to New York in 1955 where they continued to live.

He resided at the St. Alban’s Veterans Home for the past 9 years where he was visited and cared for by his loving wife, his devoted son, and caring daughter on a regular basis.

John is survived by his loving wife Dorothy; son John L., jr. of Far Rockaway, daughter Virginia of Rockaway; grandchildren Whitney Carter Jackson and Gerard Serles of Rockaway; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends.

He is predeceased by his three brothers and four sisters.

Interment under the direction of Lawrence Funeral Chapel was held at Calverton National Cemetery.

Alan Justice

Friends From Here

Service for Alan Justice was held on Wednesday, April 19, 2000.

Alan attended Franklin K. Lane High School for three years and continued his education at William H. Maxwell High School at night to receive his equivalency diploma.

Alan was well liked. He had numerous friends in Far Rockaway.

He is survived by his son Terrance; stepfather Louis Harris; sisters Jean, Beverly, and Cheryl; brothers Gerald, David, and Gary; granddaughter Destiny; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.

Thomas A. McLoughlin

Of Rockaway Park

Mass of Christian Burial for Thomas A. McLoughlin was celebrated on Tuesday, April 18, 2000, at St. Camillus Church.

Thomas was a lifelong Rockaway Park resident. He served in the Navy during World War II. Thomas went on to become the Union President of Local 211.

He is predeceased by his wife, the late Margaret, and his brother, the late Edward.

Thomas is survived by his sons Thomas, Francis, Terrence, and Michael; daughters Mary Hurley, Maureen and Kathleen McLoughlin; brother James; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Interment under the direction of Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home, Inc. was held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Westchester.

Florence Mead

Former Arverne Resident

Florence Mead (nee Golliver) died on April 12, 2000.

She was a longtime Arverne resident who relocated to Glendale, Arizona.

Florence started working at Bargaintown off Rockaway Turnpike and was later employed at Waldbaums on 116 street as a customer service manager. She attended many Rockaway Little League baseball games.

Devoted wife of the late Alan, Florence was the beloved mother of Linda, Robert, Glen, Carole, Vicki, Lori (deceased), Arleen, Ponci and Eric, loving grandmother of 19 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; dear sister of Doreen White, Leona Coppolino, and the late George Golliver; and aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.

William A. Reilly

Of Broad Channel

Mass of Christian Burial for William A. Reilly was celebrated on Monday, April 17, 2000, at St. Virgilius Church in Broad Channel.

William was a longtime resident of Rockaway Beach until 1991 when he moved to Broad Channel. He was a retired letter carrier for the US Postal Service. William was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of V.F.W. Knights of Columbus and the American Legion.

Widower of the late Anna May Solino, William is survived by his children Druscilla Reilly Henglein and Cindy Reilly Henglein; grandchildren Frank Henglein, Jill Ann Henglein, Mathew Joseph Henglein, and Richard William Henglein; and brother Henry Reilly.

Interment under the direction of Hillebrand Funeral Home was held at Calvery Cemetery.

Thomas Smith

From Rockaway Point

Mass of Christian Burial for Thomas Smith was celebrated on Thursday, April 20, 2000, at St. Thomas More Church.

Thomas served in the Army Air Corp. during World War II. He was also a lieutenant with the New York Police Department. Thomas lived in Rockaway Point for 53 years, coming from Brooklyn.

He is survived by his wife Lauretta; son Thomas; daughter Laurie Burns; grandchildren James, Laura, Paul, Kevin, Kayla, and Thomas.

Interment under the direction of Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home, Inc. was held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Brooklyn.

Lori Joseph Towey

Of Far Rockaway

Private services for Lori Joseph Towey were held on Monday, April 17, 2000.

Lori was a homemaker who dedicated her life to her family.

She is survived by her beloved husband Kenneth; sons Justin Joseph and Kenneth; mother Judith Cotler; and sisters Marcia, Pamela, and Nadine.

Interment under the direction of Lawrence Funeral Chapel was held at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge, New Jersey.
