Fran Finneran died on Tuesday, April 11, 2000, in Kissimmee, Florida.
A longtime Rockaway resident, Fran moved to Florida in her later years with her husband.
She is survived by her loving husband Edward (Bee Bee) Finneran; her children John and Christopher Hynes and Kathryn Denni ; her stepsons; and seven grandchildren.
Private services were held in Florida.
Of Rockaway Point
Mass of Christian Burial for Arthur Griffin was celebrated on Friday, April 14, 2000, at St. Genevieve’s Church in Roxbury.
Arthur, also known as Gordon, was a lifelong resident of Rockaway Point. He was an active member of the Catholic Club and the Mayor’s Committee of Roxbury.
He is predeceased by his brother, the late William, and his sister, the late Laura Stelz.
Arthur is survived by his beloved wife Marilyn C.; daughter Lynda Griffin-Martin; son-in-law Robert Martin; sisters Myna Froese and Barbara Hornung; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bill and Gloria Ryan; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Interment under the direction of Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home, Inc. was held at Calverton National Cemetery.

Mass of the Resurrection for Reverend Robert Christopher Jones, C.SS.R., was concelebrated on Tuesday, April 11 at St. Thomas More Church.
Reverend Jones was a member of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer. He was Associate Pastor of Saint Ursala Church in Maryland, Archdiocese of Baltimore and Chaplain of Notre Dame Prepatory School in Towson, Maryland. He formerly served at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Ellicott City, MD, St. Mary’s Church in Annopolis, MD, Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Boston, MA, and Most Holy Redeemer Church in Manhattan.
Predeceased by his father, the late Robert C. Jones, Robert is survived by his beloved mother Bridget Mary of Rockaway Point; brother Gerard; sisters Nancy Jones, Debra Ryan, and Patrice Halas; sister-in-law Deborah Caldwell; brothers-in-law Robert Ryan and Walter Halas; and nephews Richard and Robert Ryan and William and David Jones.
Interment under the direction of Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home, Inc. was held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Brooklyn.
Of Rockaway Park
Mass of Christian Burial for John Murphy was celebrated on Tuesday, April 11, 2000, at St. Francis de Sales Church.
John lived in Rockaway for 30 years, coming from Brooklyn. He was a retired conductor from the New York City Transit Authority.
Widower of the late Anna, John is survived by his son John F. Murphy and his grandson Johnny Murphy.
Interment under the direction of Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home, Inc. was held at St. Raymond’s Cemetery, Bronx.
From Far Rockaway
Mass of Christian Burial for Teresa Sarica was celebrated on Thursday, April 6, 2000, at St. Joachim Church.
Teresa devoted her life to her family.
She is survived by her daughter Jackie Salgado.
Interment under the direction of Lawrence Funeral Chapel Inc. was held at St. Mary Star of the Sea Cemetery, Lawrence.

Service for Jonathan Sills was held on Friday, April 7, 2000, at First Baptist Church in Far Rockaway.
Jonathan was born in White Springs, Florida and moved to New York in the late 1930s. He joined the First Baptist Church and was a faithful member for years. Hard work and determination netted him success in real estate. He was also active in community affairs. He leaves behind a legacy of integrity, trust, and respect.
He is survived by his beloved wife Rosella; sons O’Neil and James Aeigler; daughters-in-law Ora Clark and Lois Zeigler; grandsons Jonathan, James, Darrell, and Calvin Zeigler; granddaughters Monica and Kim Zeigler; eight great-grandchildren, all of Far Rockaway; nieces Delores Caldwell and Victoria Sill-Sears; three great-nieces; and nephew Bruce Sills; and a host of friends, business associates, and other family members.
Interment under the direction of Chatmon and Benson Funeral Home, Inc. was held at Pine Lawn Memorial Park, Farmingdale, New York.
James Simmons, Jr.
Formerly Of Rockaway
Mass of Christian Burial for James Simmons, jr. was celebrated on Thursday, March 30, 2000, at St. Sebastian’s Church in Woodside.
James was born in Old Rockaway Beach Hospital. He lived in Rockaway until he married. James retired from Wall Street where he was a bond trader.
He is predeceased by his mother, the late Mary Simmons (nee Walsh).
James is survived by his loving wife Patricia (nee Sheridan); son Stephen; daughter Tracey Hogan; father James; brothers Joseph and Dennis; sisters Patricia McDonald, Joan Madden, and Eileen Mohr; son-in-law Michael; and grandchildren James and Robert.
Interment under the direction of Kennedy-Roth Funeral Home was held at Calverton National Cemetery.

Richard, affectionately known as Wilkie, attended public school in Nassau County.
He is survived by his mother Floine of Far Rockaway; brothers Thad of South Carolina and Steven of Far Rockaway; sisters Julette (Judy), Elaine, and Diane Washington of Far Rockaway, Carol Washington of Long Island City, and Dale Washington of South Carolina; aunt Elouise Anderson of South Carolina; stepson Jacobe Garear and stepdaughter "Angle" Garear of Jamaica, New York; mother-in-law Mary Garear; sister-in-law Gloria Lavin on Jamaica, New York; a host of nieces and nephews; and a special friend and nurse Jackie Brockington of Terrance Cook Cardinal Nursing Home.
