Jeannot Mordeaut, of 71-15 Beach Channel Drive, and his girlfriend Shana Ross, of Edgemere, got into a heated argument Monday morning in Mordeaut’s ninth floor apartment, resulting in both parties stabbing each other.

According to police, Mordeaut, 29, was stabbed in the leg and torso and suffered significant blood loss. He was transported to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center where he remains in serious condition. Ross, 30, who also received a minor stab wound, was transported to Peninsula Hospital Center where she was treated and released.

The argument between Mordeaut and Ross that led to the stabbings occurred in broad daylight just after 8 a.m. Both parties have been placed under arrest. Although a weapon has been recovered, police have not as yet been able to determine who stabbed who first. According to police, the argument began over a break-up of the couple. Both have been charged with assault.
