Matilda Corrigan
Of Rockaway Point


Mass of Christian Burial for Matilda "Tilly" Corrigan was celebrated on Thursday, March 30, 2000, at Calvary Full Gospel Fellowship Church in Floral Park, Queens.
Tilly was an active fund-raiser for her church, Roxbury Community Church. She was a Rockaway Point resident for many years.
Beloved wife of the late John E. Corrigan, Tilly was the devoted mother of Diane Ferran and Reverand Michael J. Corrigan and stepmother of John E. Corrigan, III; loving grandmother of Luke, Matt, Michael and John Gordon; dear sister of Jerry and Helen DeGuglielmis, Rose Rizzo, and Florence Ciluffo.
Interment under the direction of Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home, Inc. was held at Pinelawn Cemetery, Long Island.

Alfred A. Eichner
Formerly of Broad Channel
Alfred A. Eichner died in his home in Oklawaha, Florida on March 28, 2000, after a long ilness.
He was the loving husband of the late Esther; loving father of Alfred, jr. of Woodside, Priscilla Mongeluzzo of Tampa, Florida, Frank and Gail Kiesling of Rockaway Beach, Christine and Allen Hart, Janie and Andrew Smith, and Rigina Nemeck all of Douglasville, Georgia, and the late Gerald and Marie; loving grandfather to Anne Leilanie Eichner, Tara and Eric Horne, Esther and Matthew Culligan, James McDermott, Michael and Michelle Mongeluzzo, Roseanne Kiesling, Frank and Christine Kiesling, Jennifer and Hector Rivera, Donald and Shawn Botticello; and great-grandfather to Alisha, Gerald III, Erica, Kimberly, Lee Anne, Jacqueline and James, jr., Ashley, Cynthia, Amanda Kiesling, and Frank Mongeluzzo.
Interment under the direction of Frederick’s Funeral Home, of Flushing, will be held on Sunday, April 2 at Mt. Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Flushing.

Walter Gee
Of Far Rockaway
Walter Gee died on Wednesday, March 8, 2000, at Peninsula Hospital Center.
He was a member of JASA at 155 Seagirt boulevard. He was a Far Rockaway resident for the past seven years.
Walter is survived by his son Daryl Hendricks; daughter Tonia Gee; and his grandchildren.
Private services were held.
Interment was held at George Washington Memorial Cemetery, New Jersey.

Willie B. Johnson
Avid Traveler
Service for Willie B. Johnson was held on Friday, March 24, 2000.
Willie traveled throughout the country to visit all of his children and grandchildren every year.
He is survived by his wife Laura; children Irene Thompson, Eunice Carter, and Mathew James; grandchildren Calvin and Sharon Thompson, Christopher and Sharalyn, Brandon James, Mr. and Mrs. Warren James, Orlando Carter, and Judy Parris; great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Private arrangements were made under the direction of Jeremiah C. Gaffney’s Funeral Home, Inc. of Inwood.

Florence C. O’Dea
Rockaway Park Resident
Mass of Christian Burial for Florence C. O’Dea was celebrated on Monday, March 27, 2000, at St. Camillus Church.
Florence was a former employee of the New York City Department of Transportation. She was a Rockaway Park resident for many years, living at Dayton Towers West.
She is predeceased by her siblings, the late Catherine O’Dea, Marie McLaughlin, Cecilia Dennehy, and John.
Interment under the direction of Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home, Inc. was held at Calvary Cemetery, Woodside.

Margaret O’Donnell
Of Rockaway Park
Mass of Christian Burial for Margaret O’Donnell was celebrated on Wednesday, March 29 at St. Camillus Church.
Margaret was a Rockaway Park resident for 60 years, coming from Manhattan.
She is survived by her husband John J.; sons Kenneth and John F.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Interment under the direction of Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home, Inc. was held at Flushing Cemetery.

William Smith
From Far Rockaway
Mass of Christian Burial for William Smith was celebrated on Friday, March 31, 2000, at St. Joacheim Church in Cedarhurst.
A resident of the Roy Ruther Senior Apartments, William was a Far Rockaway resident his lifetime.
William served in the Navy during World War II. He was retired from the construction industry and spent much of his free time as a member of the John J. Oliveri Post #1582 VFW, of Inwood.
He is survived by his children William, jr., Brian, Richard, Patricia Spitzer, and Marie Smith.
Interment under the direction of Meserole Funeral Home, Inc., of Inwood, was held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lawrence.

William "Bill" Theis
Of Broad Channel
Mass of Christian Burial for William "Bill" Theis was celebrated on Thursday, March 31, 2000, at St. Virgilius Church in Broad Channel.
Bill was a Broad Channel resident his entire life. He was a graduate of St. Virgilius and Brooklyn Tech High School. Bill was retired from the New York Police Department.
He is survived by his wife Catherine E. (nee O’Brien); children Jeanne Anne Andrus, William J., James W., and John P.; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Interment under the direction of Hillebrand Funeral Home, of Broad Channel, was held at St. John’s Cemetery.

Laurence Wilson
From Rockaway Point
Mass of Christian Burial for Laurence Wilson was celebrated on Wednesday, March 29 at St. Genevieve’s Church in Roxbury.
Laurence was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a Rockaway Point resident since 1975, coming from Brooklyn.
He is survived by his wife Francis; sons Richard and Larry; daughters Eileen Snyder and Maureen Farrell; sisters Ann Lundine, Mary Kausmann, and Patricia Ferchland; and eight grandchildren.
