Walter Christianson of Roxbury celebrated his 90 birthday of March 6, 2000 on March 12, 2000 at a private party in the Roxbury Barn II. It was planned by his wife Doris and their families. Neighbors, friends and family, many from Georgia, helped celebrate this big birthday. Criag Livingston of Classic Cuisine catered the delicious food and the party was enjoyed by all.
St. Genevieve's had another very nice 50/50 on Sunday, March 5 in Father Hession hall. Joe Ferrandino, bill Feimer, Joe Santoli, Jean Feimer, Kathy Lennon, etc. all helped run the affair. Donald Feimer of Classic Cuisine catered the delicious meal. Very happy winners and a great afternoon affair.
Bonnie Flood, niece of Aunt Mary Maguire, had a surprise birthday party on Sunday, March 11 for Aunt Mary's 88 birthday at the Stuyvesant Café. She was very surprised and received an album of memories. Babies Bridget and Kathleen Livingston and Sarah Mae Livingston all were there for the very special celebration.
The Roxbury Volunteer Fire Department had a Night at the Races on March 11 in the Roxbury Fire House. It was run by the members and Don Hurley was the emcee. There was food, drinks, and happy winners and a good attendance despite the terrible rainstorm. Another fun night.
The Breezy Point Golden Age Club had their St. Patrick's Day party on March 14 in St. Thomas More's hall. President Grace McCluskey was the chairperson and with her cookie donator, helpers, etc. did a fine job. Frannie Jamin of JAMCO catered it and waitresses Lisa, Kara and Trish served the delicious corned beef dinner. Bob Cass played the music for dancing and Jo McMonagle was in charge of the great local entertainment. Rumored--were a singing couple becoming an item? Another great celebration!
The Catholic Club's Century Club of Rockaway Point had another dinner dance on March 18. Tim Murphy and Bill Camper were the chairmen and John Gavin, Tom Crawford, Tom Haugh were their helpers. Frannie Jamin of JAMCO catered the delicious dinner and Trish and Lisa served it. Bob Cass played the music for dancing and Fitz and Joe were the bartenders. Happy winners and another good affair.
