B.C.A.C. Plays Ball!

Little League Steps Up To Plate

By Marty Feeney

With the end of the winter basketball season arriving, the members of the Broad Channel Athletic Club are preparing for their first season of
organized little league. Registration has taken place with very positive
results. The B.C.A.C. Jamaica Bay Little League will provide divisions for boys and girls between the ages of four through 18. The divisions will be "Farms T-Ball" boys and girls four-years old to six, Minor Girls Softball between seven and eight, Girls Softball between 10 and 12 years, Junior Girls Softball between 13 and 16.

Baseball divisions will be Rookie-- seven and eight years old, Minor--nine and 10 years old, Major--11 and 12, Junior--13 and 15. Older divisions will also be offered for softball and baseball. The new league will provide the opportunity for the children to play locally in Broad Channel. Each team will play two games per week with some of the teams playing night games under the lights at Memorial Field. Jamaica Bay Little League will enter tournament teams at the end of the regular season in District 27. Registration is still open, any
child that would like to play should contact any member of the B.C.A.C. or at the B.C.A.C. website broadchannelac.org. The B.C.A.C. Jamaica Bay Little League can also be contacted at a brand new web site that is provided by little league headquarters at myteam.com. This site has plenty of great news and tips for the little leaguer, coach and parent.

Congratulations to all the basketball teams for another great season. Many of the teams made the playoffs and had plenty of fun during the season. Chuck Willsen, the A.C basketball commissioner, did as usual another great job this year with the
kids. Girls swimming is in full stride; look on the web site for swim meet
times and pool locations. Look for more info here at The Wave in the coming weeks.
