Far Rock Rapist Sought

Above is a police sketch artist’s drawing of an alleged attempted rapist who attacked a minor female in Far Rockaway the first week in January. Anyone with information about this perpetrator is asked to call the CRIMESTOPPERS Hotline.

Detectives from the Queens Special Victims Squad are looking for a suspect in an attempted rape of a female minor that took place on January 6 at 6:20 a.m. in the Far Rockaway section of Queens.

According to police, at the time of the attempted rape, the young victim was in the basement area of her building when a black male approached her and forced her into the elevator where he attempted to rape her. Police said that the perps attempt was unsuccessful and he fled the scene.

The perpetrator (pictured here in a police sketch) is described by police as a black male, 5’8", 220-25lbs., with black hair and a dark complexion. He is thought to be in his 30’s. At the time of the incident the perp was wearing a black leather jacket and a black knit cap with white lettering.

Anyone with information about this incident or if you recognize the perpetrator is asked to call the CRIMESTOPPERS Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS. CRIMESTOPPERS will pay up to $1,000 for any information that leads to the arrest and indictment of any violent felon. You need not reveal you identity. All CRIMESTOPPERS tips are anonymous.
