St. Francis Makes A Run For It

St. Francis de Sales CYO track team, though shorthanded, scored heavily at the Diocesan Championship meet on February 20 at Pratt.

The boys had great efforts from Kenny Fiorentino, second place in the Bantam 400m in 1:23; Andy Cruz, second place in the Cadet 800m in 3:10; Jim Hayden, second place in the Junior 800m in 2:52; Joe "The Flash", first place in the Senior 200m in :29; Patrick Benn, second place in the Senior 400m in :71; and Johnny Brennan, second place in the Senior 800m in 2:41.

The girls were strong with Shinnann Featherston running a fast 1:25 400m in heavy competition to get fourth in the Cadet Division. The juniors were dominant with Kristi Moore and Alex Biddescombe running top 10 in the 50m dash; Katie Pastina, first place in the 200m in :31; Corrine Howley, first place in the 400m in 1:15; Martina Featherston, first place in the 800m in 2:46; and Alana Fiorentino, Clare Ollquist, Tricia Killian and Allison Lee, second place in the 800m Medley Relay.

Mary Edwards shattered her PR to run 1:22 in the Senior 400m, getting fourth, and Suzanne Hurley stepped up strong for second in the 800m in 3:21.
