Readers beware! Local police have issued a community alert in their search for two dark skinned males, approximately 20 years of age, who are responsible for at least four attacks during the past 18 months on women in the borough of Queens.
In each case one attacker identified himself as a utility worker, gained entry into the residence, displayed a firearm, and admitted an accomplice. Once inside the males assaulted their victims and fled with money and/or jewelry.
Police are cautioning everyone not to open their doors to strangers and to always call the appropriate company to verify anyone posing as a utility employee before allowing entry. If there are any doubts whatsoever, police suggest that the resident call the CRIMESTOPPERS Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS. (This message comes from Crime Prevention Police Officers Rick Huether of the 100 Precinct and Mike Valentino of the 101 Precinct.)
