Joseph Brenner
Rockaway Resident

Joseph Brenner died on Monday, February 7, 2000 at Peninsula Hospital Center.
Joseph was a member of Workman’s Circle and a retiree of a men’s clothing line. He graduated New York University in 1932 and moved to Rockaway in 1960.
He is survived by his loving wife Adele; sons David and Harvey; and 6 beautiful grandchildren.
Joseph is predeceased by his daughter, the late Susan Mellan.
Services were held on Wednesday, February 9 under the direction of Parkside Memorial Chapel.

Velma Jean Errico
Of Breezy Point

Mass of Christian Burial for Velma Jean Errico was celebrated Friday, February 11 at St. Edmund’s Church.
Velma worked as an accountant. She lived in Breezy Point for 41 years, coming from Ohio.
Widow of the late Gus, Velma is survived by her sons Joseph and Frank; daughters Angela Welsh and Maryann Keim; and grandchildren Sabrina, Francis, Jennifer and Laura Jean.
She is predeceased by her brother, the late Robert Alfani.
Interment under the direction of Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home, Inc. was held at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Huntington.

Joseph Ferguson
Rockaway Park Resident

Mass of Christian Burial for Joseph Ferguson was celebrated Wednesday, February 9 at St. Francis de Sales Church.
Born in England, Joseph was a Rockaway Park resident for 71 years.
He was a member of the United States Coast Guard during World War II. He later worked as an inspector for the New York City Department of Sanitation.
Widower of the late Mary E. (nee Lowry), Joseph is survived by his son Joseph M.; daughters Elizabeth Ferguson and Ann DelGiornio; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Interment under the direction of Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home, Inc. was held at Calverton National Cemetery.

Irma Joglar
Formerly Of Far Rock
Mass of Christian Burial for Irma Joglar was celebrated on Monday, February 7 at St. Mary, Star of the Sea Church in Far Rockaway.
Irma worked in the nursing profession and moved to Tuscon, Arizona from Far Rockaway.
She is survived by her husband Jorge Joglar Reyes; children Helen, Denise and Marco; mother Leonor Vazquez; five sisters; and six brothers.
Interment under the direction of Lawrence Funeral Chapel, Inc. was held at Calverton National Cemetery.

Michael T. McKinley
Family From Here
Michael T. McKinley was killed in an auto accident on January 30, 2000 in Camp Verde, Arizona. He was 19 years old.
Michael attended PS 47 in Broad Channel when he was younger.
He was the beloved son of the late Lori.
Michael is survived by his loving grandmother Florence Mead; aunts Linda Giove of Staten Island, Carol Santoro of Arizona, Vicki Mead of Arizona, Arleen Callanan of East Rockaway and Ponci Mead of Rockaway Park; uncles Robert Mead of Island Park, Glen Mead of Rockaway Beach, Eric Mead of Arizona, Eugene, Patty, Bobby and Johnny Ray McKinley of Broad Channel; as well as many cousins.
Michael was deeply loved by all those who knew him.

Leana Miller
Devoted To Her Family
Service for Leana Miller was held on Tuesday, February 8, 2000 at First Presbyterian Church of Far Rockaway.
Leana came to the United States from Jamaica, West Indies in the late 1960’s. She worked as a nursing assistant while helping to raise several of her grandchildren.
She was a devoted member of her church and joined its Women’s League.
Leana is survived by her children Alpheus, Dorothy, Etta, Enid and George; brother Caleb; 18 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins and other relatives.
Interment under the direction of Lawrence Funeral Chapel was held at Pinelawn Memorial Park.

Lillian O’Donnell
Breezy Point Resident

Mass of Christian Burial for Lillian O’Donnell was celebrated Wednesday, February 9 at St. Thomas More Church.
Lillian was a Breezy Point resident since 1984, coming from the Bronx.
She worked as a clerk in an insurance company.
Widow of the late Ralph L., Lillian was the aunt of Eileen Meakin, Richard, Susan and Mary C. Bailey, Carol Kettell, Carole Biondi and Robert Fitzpatrick.
Interment under the direction of Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home, Inc. was held at Calverton National Cemetery.

Anna "Mazie" Palmenta
From Arverne

Mass of Christian Burial for Anna "Mazie" Palmenta was celebrated Tuesday, February 8 at St. Francis de Sales Church.
Mazie was an Arverne resident for 35 years, coming from Brooklyn. She worked as a traffic supervisor for the New York Telephone Company in its Brooklyn office for 37 years and seven months.
Widow of the late Silvio F., Mazie is survived by her brother John, several nieces and one nephew.
She is predeceased by her sister, the late Lillian McLaughlin.
Interment under the direction of Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home, Inc. was held at Calverton National Cemetery.

Ellen (Eileen) Sheehy
Of Rockaway Point
Mass of Christian Burial for Ellen (Eileen) Sheehy was celebrated Thursday, February 10 at St. Thomas More Church.
Born is Albany, Eileen was a Rockaway Point resident for 41 years coming from Brooklyn.
She was a longstanding member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Roxbury.
Widow of the late John J., Eileen is survived by her sons Matthew and Sean (John); grandchildren KerryAnn, Matthew and Megan.
She is predeceased by her brother, the late Matthew McMahon.
Interment under the direction of Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home, Inc. was held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla.
