'Souper' Bowl Terrific
Children from Christ Presbyterian Church and the Broad Channel Athletic Club once again participated in the "Souper" Bowl this year. George and John Conklin, in their BCAC football jerseys, with a large soup pot and sports bowl, collected money and nonperishable food items from the congregation and Sunday school. This year the children and teachers of the Sunday school selected to send the donation to Gethsemane Presbyterian Church's food program in South Brooklyn.
Rev. Andrea Zarou would like to particularly thank George and John who have volunteered each year to help with the hunger program. Congratulations also to both boys on a very successful football season with the BCAC and for John
winning the Most Valuable Player on his team.
"Souper" Bowl was started in a Presbyterian church in the Carolinas and today has spread across the nation. Thank you to Reverend Andrea Zarou for bringing this worthwhile cause to our area.
