Cops Turn Tables On Fraud Case

Now The Perp Is Singing The Blues

Jason Martin was singing a whole different song to detectives from the 100 Precinct on Tuesday, after having reported a $17,000 robbery at his home/recording studio at 9:30 p.m. Monday night.

Martin, a 33 year old white male who operates a recording studio attached to his place of residence at 206 Beach 119 street, initially told police that he had invited two local talents to the studio Monday evening because he wanted them to record for him. Although he told the police that the two made away with $17,000 of his money, the story which was published in Monday's Daily News, Detective Cunard uncovered during his investigation Tuesday evening that Martin was lying when he confessed to the false reporting of the robbery. Now he's singing the blues as he faces false reporting charges, something that our local police do not take lightly.

Police told The Wave that Martin was doing some renovation around the house and was allegedly into his contractors for a good deal of money. The story about the false robbery, police speculate, was to gain sympathy for his present failing financial situation.
