Rangers Move On To Playoffs

Rockaway Rockies began the playoffs Saturday against Broad Channel.
Coming off their best showing of the year against Bergen Beach the previous Wednesday, the Rockies were set to make some noise.
The game began with
outstanding defense from both teams. Rockies goaltender Danny Munday was outstanding again, as he has been the entire second half of the season. The first period ended in a scoreless tie. In the second period the Rockies took to the offense with Brian McLoughlin scoring off a nice feed from Tommy McElhatton. Joe Forcina did some good work in the offensive zone and Matt Perrone picked up a loose puck and deposited it into the broad channel net for a 2-0 Rockies lead.
Daisy Diehm was tremendous playing both wing and defense. With James Pareja and Mike Annon pitching in with great efforts and

In the third period Broad Channel came back to tie the score with less than three minutes remaining. The Rockies came right back on the next shift with a goal to go ahead. Good hustle from Tommy McElhatton led to Brian McLoughin's second of the game off a scramble in front. A great save by Danny Munday sealed the game and the Rockies play on.
