Anna Augustine
Lived In Rockaway

Mass of Christian Burial for Anna Augustine was celebrated today, Saturday, January 22, at St. Francis de Sales Church, Belle Harbor.
A resident of Rockaway before moving to Bayshore, Anna died on January 19, 2000 at South Nassau Community Hospital.
A seamstress by trade, she is survived by companion John Regnier; daughters Arlene Augustine, Joan Garland, and Diana Jennings; friend Loretta Dalessandro; brothers Peter Palmentire and Sammy Palmentire; sister Marie Colmone; eight grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
Interment under the direction of Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home, Inc., was held at St. John's Cemetery.

Per O. Johannesen
From Rockaway
Originally from Brooklyn, Per O. Johannesen lived in Rockaway for 30 years.
He died on January 18, 2000 at Peninsula Hospital Center.
A retired New York City police officer, he is survived by mother Thora Johannesen; wife Jean; daughters Donna Koppinger and Sharon Nicholsen; brother Robert; and five grandchildren--Jennie, Charlie, Peter, Michael, and Brian.
Private services were held.

Francis Manion
Originally From Rockaway
Mass of Christian Burial for Francis Manion was held on January 20 at St. Camillus Church, Rockaway Beach.
Francis, who moved to Long Beach after living in Rockaway, died on January 16, 2000 at Long Beach Memorial Hospital.
Francis was a singing waiter on Beach 103 street in the 1930's. He was a retired steam fitter with Local 638.
He is survived by son Thomas Manion, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and predeceased by his wife, the late Agnes.
Interment under the direction of Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home, Inc., of Rockaway Beach was held at Calvery Cemetery.

Albert Charles Manning, Sr.
Family From Rockaway
Mass of Christian Burial for Albert Charles Manning, sr., was celebrated on January 10 at St. Camillus Church, Rockaway Beach.
Born on April 10, 1931, Albert died on January 6, 2000 at Mary Immaculate Hospital, Jamaica, Queens.
He was a machinist with Hayward Manufacturing, commander of the Anabas Boat Club in Broad Channel and followed in his father's footsteps as a devoted fisherman.
He lived in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.
Albert is survived by son Albert, jr., and daughter-in-law Kathy of Rockaway Park; daughters Helen Rivira of Cape Coral, Florida, and Linda Pino of New Jersey; 16 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; sisters Elizabeth, Mary Plantz, and Kathleen Calabrese; and brothers Edward and John Manning.
Interment was held at St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, Long Island.

William Peacock
Of Rockaway Beach
William Peacock, a lifelong resident of Rockaway Beach, died on January 17, 2000.
Predeceased by his wife, the late Dorothy, and his brother, the late James, he is survived by sons William, John, and John Daly; daughters Bernadine McDonough and Carol Daly; brother Alfred; and nine grandchildren.
Interment under the direction of Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home, Inc., was held at Calverton National Cemetery.

Dorothy Schweickert
Of Roxbury
Mass of Christian Burial for Dorothy Schweickert was celebrated on January 15 at St. Genevieve's Church, Roxbury.
A 25 year resident of Roxbury, originally from Ridgewood, Dorothy died on January 12, 2000 at her home.
She is survived by sons John A. and Thomas, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was predeceased by her late husband John A. and son, the late Donald.
Interment under the direction of Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home, Inc., of Rockaway Beach was held at St. John's Cemetery.

Alice Sullivan
Lifelong Resident
Mass of Christian Burial for Alice Sullivan will be celebrated on January 24 at St. Thomas More Church, Breezy Point.
A lifelong Rockaway resident, Alice died on January 19, 2000 at Peninsula Hospital Center.
Wife of the late John G., she is survived by son John Sullivan and wife Ursula; seven grandsons; and many great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister, the late Margaret Dalton.
Interment under the direction of Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home, Inc., was held at Greenwood Cemetery, Brooklyn.
