In The Year 3000
(This message is a time capsule submission into a computer database that is to be opened in the year 3000)
I sit here in the early morning the day after Christmas, listening to the
soft sounds of my husband and children sleeping. Chanukah has passed, Ramadan is ending soon and Kwanzaa has started. I am grateful for the life we are living yet worried about the world we are leaving behind for you in the year 3000. I can only hope that your world is safer, kinder and more loving than the one we lived in.
Our mistakes were great. We looked at the color of people's skin before we looked into their hearts. For the world to have survived, this must have been changed.
To my ancestors, a message from a distant past: I started changing your world with my children, Allison Tracy born August 1, 1983 and Robert Adam born January 10, 1989. Born into a loving family with two religions. Both raised with respect for all people, two very kind, loving humans who will carry this respect to their children.
