Bossman’s Killer Sought
By Joan Ward George
The parents of Eddie Love Newson, Jr., also known as "Bossman", and the detectives squad of the 100 Precinct are seeking any information that may lead them to the apprehension of the person or persons responsible for Newson’s murder.
Newson, 19, was gunned down outside of 84-18 Rockaway Beach Boulevard on August 20, 1999. It is believed that the incident took place at approximately 12:05 a.m. According to police, Newson was shot once in the chest. He was transported to Peninsula Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police are working on the assumption that there was more than one perpetrator involved in the shooting that claimed Newson’s life.
His parents are despondent over their loss and are anxious to see the guilty person(s) apprehended. "If you loved and cared for our son Bossman, we really feel strongly that someone is out there that saw, heard or knows something about what happened that night," said Newson’s mom, Octavia. "God forbid that this happens again to another innocent child. Only, you, the community can stop this kind of crime."
Anyone with information about the shooting death of Eddie "Bossman" Love Newson, Jr. is asked to call Detective Keevan at the 100 Precinct Detective Squad at 318-4225.
