KIDS HAPPENINGS

Beach Channel High School PTA and the 100 Precinct Community Council are sponsoring a high school spring dance on Friday, May 21, 8 p.m. to midnight, in the F-gym at the school, 100-00 Beach Channel drive. Music by DJ Top Spin Productions. School ID required for entrance; tickets at door.

MUSIC & THE ARTS

Rockaway Artist’s Alliance event on Saturday, May 22 at 2:00 p.m. Joseph Rothenberg of RAA and Docent, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, will present a slide lecture entitled "Art, Another Language" at the Queens Museum of Art, Flushing Meadows (Corona Park). Rockaway Theatre Company, Inc. and Gateway National Recreation presents "A Taste of Ireland-Bridging the Gap" by Margaret Niland and John Gilleece; a new musical play using songs, scenes and stories to portray the Irish experience. COURSES, WORKSHOPS

Volunteer literacy tutors needed at Seaside branch to assist the Adult Learning Center, which tutors adult new readers, conversation groups and English language learners. Training will start in June.
