Girls Basketball Heats Up

St. Camillus girls basketball heated up with several games on Thursday, December 16. Game one of the Junior Girls Division had Mirkin Vision Care dominating Brown's Hardware with a victory of 27-5. Mirkin's Kristi Grosseto and Jillian Moore contributed to their win. Kamil Lowe and Angela Stietzel played good defense.

In game two, Animal Hospital stormed Georges' Florist with a 16-8 win. Animal Hospital's Ashley Larcheveque and Meg Wheeler aided their team with the win. Georges' Rita Regan played well with good defensive moves and defensive moves.

Current standings are Animal Hospital 7-0, Mirkin Vision Care 3-4, and Georges' Florist and Brown's Hardware 2-5.

Senior Girls Division, game one, had K of C squeaking by Harbor Light with a 24-23 win. K of C's Dawn Duggan and Danielle Donlon made the difference in both offense and defense. Harbor Light's Kathleen Firtle and Chrissy Suslak put up a good defense.

West End Realty narrowly beat O'Grady's Plumbing 34-31 in game 2. West End's Hope Johnson on defense and Lauren Kentauris' offense were invaluable. O'Grady's Jen Pomponio put up a good offense while Kara Bobby gave her all on defense.

Current standings are West End Realty tied to K of C 5-2 and Harbor Light tied to O'Grady's Plumbing 2-5.

Games resume January 6, 2000.
