Dot on Roxbury

by Dotty Taphouse

Roxbury Volunteer Fire Department had their Christmas party last Saturday, December 11 in the Roxbury Firehouse. The Ladies Auxiliary of the fire department and children of the beach were invited. The food and drinks were given by the members of the fire department and the Ladies Auxiliary. John Mulvanerty was the jolly Santa Claus for the children who received presents. A great fun day for all!

The Breezy Point Golden Age Club had their Christmas party in St. Thomas More's hall on Tuesday, December 14. Despite the bad weather, it was well attended. Frannie and Bobbie Jamin of JAMCO catered the delicious dinner. Lisa, Trish, and Kara were the very good waitresses. Dr. Geraldine D. Chapey and Dr. Geraldine M. Chapey donated the yummy cakes. Bob Cass played the music for dancing. Jo McMonagle and I were the chairladies and would like to thank Pat Powers for taking reservations (while I was at Woodloch Pines) and the ladies who helped set up and decorate.

Reverend Father Jack Cullinane, Anthony Weiner, Audrey Pheffer, Jo Anne Shapiro, Dr. Geraldine M. Chapey, Eugene Pasternak and Lew Simon all dropped by to wish us happy holidays. Jo McMonagle was in charge of entertainment and the local talent was great. Another very nice party!

A healthy and Merry Christmas to all!

Love Dot…
