Kearney Tigers Roar

Bishop Kearney won their home opener. The day started off with the Tigers annual pep rally. With a standing room only crowd Kearney beat Brooklyn rival Saint Saviour 78-51.

Point guard Janelle McManus led the tigers attack with 28 points and nine steals. The cities top point guard also made sure she got all her young
teammates involved in the offense as she dished off 10 assists in the win.
Sophomore Katelyn Lawler had 14 points and five steals, freshman Caitlin Boyle had 10 points and six steals, sophomore Nicki Nies had six points and sophomore Caitlin OCallaghan hit the boards and recorded 10 rebounds.

Kearney varsity basketball team has six players from Rockaway and Breezy Point. The Tigers are 1-0 and their next opponent is Walt Whitman High School.
