Dot on Roxbury

by Dotty Taphouse

Sarah Mae Livingston, daughter of Jeanine and Craig Livingston, entered our world on September 29, 1999 and was baptized on Saturday, December 4 in St. Genevieve's church at the 5:00 Mass by the Pastor Reverend Father Jack Cullinane. Sarah Mae's delighted godparents are (aunt) Debra Taphosue and (uncle) Chris Livingston. Carole and Robert Taphouse and Sandy and Sonny Livingston are the elated grandparents. Doris and Walter Christianson, Gertrude Daly and Dotty Taphouse (me) are the very proud great grandparents.

After the beautiful church ceremony, a great Christening party was held in Father Hession hall. There was plenty to drink and music. Sarah Mae's dad, Craig of Classic Cuisine, catered the delicious buffet. Craig's godfather Tommy Walsh, his wife Kathy Walsh, grand aunt Barbara Stamper from Georgia were all in attendance with many other guests. It was a lovely party!

A busload from Breezy Point Golden Age were on a five day mini vacation to Woodloch Pines in Hawley, Pennsylvania last week. As usual, the rooms, food, games, pool, etc. were great. Many went home with medals and the nightly entertainment was the best. The show for the year 2000 was terrific. The weather was fine and Christmas decorations beautiful. I was the leader and we left after all the fun, gaining a few pounds.

Ladies Auxiliary of the Mayor's Committee of Roxbury had their annual Christmas party in Roxbury Barn II on Friday, December 3. Pat Ross, Teri Rutter, Nancy Scialti, and Betty Feddern, etc. were in charge. The drinks and delicious dinner were great. Instead of exchanging Christmas gifts we made donations toward sponsoring "Christmas" for three needy families. A very nice gesture and another good night out.

Love Dot.
