Panthers Clinch Division

After a devastating loss to Springfield last week, the Panthers pee week team came back and bet Ridgedale Brewers on Sunday, with a 30 to 6 victory. It was a fitting way to end a great regular season. Not only did the win give them the best record in the Pop Warner Conference, but it also helped them clinch the division.

Tuesday night the coaches voted on various prestigious awards. For the second year in a row, James "Speedy" Romaine got best running back. Brandon "the hit man" Garcia won best defensive line and Tommy "the dog" Stevens got best linebacker.

Playoffs begin this weekend with a game against the Ridgedale Brewers, Saturday at 10 a.m. at Bayswater Park. The winner of this game will go on to meet the winner of the Rifles-Skyhawks game next weekend in the championship.

The panthers are confident of a victory this weekend and are looking forward to meeting the Rifles again. They are hoping to reverse what happened last year and walk away –with the championship this year.

Whatever the outcome of the post season games are, the Panthers should be commended for all their hard work and determination during the regular season.

After a devastating loss two weeks ago to Kingsbay, the junior pee wee Panthers came back to beat the undefeated Bayside Raiders this weekend. The well deserved win helped push them from third to fourth place.

There really is a tough race going on among the junior pee wee teams, and the Panthers are fighting hard. The first, second and third place teams are neck and neck. The Bayside Raiders are in first place with a 8-1 record; Kingsbay is in second place also with a 8-1 record; and the Panthers are in third place with a 8-1-1 record.

The playoffs start this weekend and the Panthers will be meeting Kingsbay, Saturday at 12 Noon. The game will be placed at Kingsbay. The winner will go on to meet the winner of the Bayside-Falcons game in the championship next weekend.

The junior pee weeks have been playing hard all season and will continue to do so this weekend. There is a lot of heart and talent on this young tem and they will be fighting their hearts out this weekend to make it to the championships.

Whatever happens this weekend, the junior pee wees have played a wonderful season and should be commended.
