Let There Be Lights

Another holiday season is upon us and the Mure family of Beach 145 street plans to recreate their winter wonderland once again. With the glistening lights, spectacular animated scenes and giant Christmas tree, "The Little North Pole" display has become one that kids, and adults, look forward to visiting.

Not only does the Mure family offer this event for the community, but they take the opportunity to accept donations for a very worthwhile cause--Juvenile Diabetes.

But there are always those people that find something to complain about. Some neighbors aren't happy with the increased traffic on the block as people come visit the display. These people need to start getting into the holiday spirit. The holiday season is about joy and sharing that joy. It's about creating hope for people…something the Mure family is attempting to do by raising money for children with diabetes. So, it is time to stop the complaining and join in the joy, hope and happiness of the season.

Stop by on Sunday, December 5 at 6:30 p.m. to see the lighting of "The Little North Pole". Santa will be there and children from neighborhood schools will be singing. It is one of those Rockaway events you just won't want to miss!
