From the Shores of

Beach Channel High School

Thanks to Principal Bernard Gassaway, the 100 Precinct Explorer Program will meet at Beach Channel at 3:30 p.m. and have the use of the gymnasium and a classroom.

100 Precinct Explorer Program is a community service, career oriented program designed to educate young men and women, ages 14-20, about law enforcement. Explorers reach out to New York's young people in diverse neighborhoods to help break barriers between young people and law enforcement officials.

Explorers are taught the importance of higher education and self-discipline in reaching their goals and are encouraged to see law enforcement as an attainable career choice. Besides learning about law enforcement, the Explorers perform community service and go on field trips.

Anyone interested in joining or seeking information can call Officer Jerry Wendelken at the 100 Precinct.

Upcoming events: End of marking period, December 9, and distribution of report cards on December 17.
