Beverley Bair Of Rockaway

Funeral service for Beverley Bair was held November 16 at the Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home, Rockaway Beach.

A longtime Rockaway resident, Beverley was a retired nurse's aide from the Park Nursing Home who had settled into her lifelong role of devoted mother, nanny, and friend. She passed on November 14, 1999.

She is survived by her sons Gerald and Thomas, daughter Donna Slakman and their respective spouses Rhonda, Rose and Alan; her nine grandchildren Kris, Matthew, Kimberly, Thomas, Rosemary, Jesse, Belinda, Jordan, and Casey; and many loving relatives and friends.

Interment under the direction of Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home, Inc., was held in Oakland Cemetery, Yonkers, New York.

Phyllis DeChagas Of Neponsit

Mass of Christian Burial for Phyllis DeChagas was celebrated on Thursday, November 18 at St. Francis de Sales, Belle Harbor.

Phyllis, a lifetime Neponsit resident, died on November 14, 1999 at Peninsula Hospital Center.

She was a legal secretary.

Phyllis is survived by sons Paul and Mark and grandchildren April Nicole and Alexander Ross. She is predeceased by sister Carol Aubrey.

Interment under the direction of Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home, Inc. Private service held.

Anne P. Dorcy Of Rockaway Park

Mass of Christian Burial for Anne P. Dorcy was celebrated on Monday, November 15 at St. Camillus, Rockaway Beach.

Anne, a Rockaway Park resident for 32 years, died on November 12, 1999 at Peninsula Hospital Center.

Born in Manhattan, and a resident of the Bronx for some time, she was a family court clerk for the New York State Courts System and a member of the St. Camillus Altar Rosary Society.

Anne, daughter of the late Owen and Anna Dorcy, is survived by sister Mary Dorcy; nieces Joanne, Patricia Dimke, and Mary Ann Chazon; nephews Robert and Kevin; and 11 great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers James and John and sister Elizabeth.

Interment under the direction of Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home, Inc., of Rockaway Beach was held at Calvery Cemetery, Woodside.

Catherine B. Mack, Family From Here

Mass of Christian Burial for Catherine Mack was celebrated on Tuesday, November 16 at St. Rose of Lima Church, Rockaway Beach.

Catherine, who was born in Brooklyn, died on November 13, 1999 at St. Vincent's Nursing Home, Montclair, New Jersey.

She was a longtime resident of Bayside Dock.

Widow of Lambert, Catherine is survived by son Lambert jr.; daughters Catherine Whitty, Mary Ann McLaughlin, and Susan McGee; brother Joseph Acker; eight grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Interment under the direction of Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home, Inc., of Rockaway Beach was held at Lutheran Cemetery, Brooklyn.

Hector L. Torres Of Far Rockaway

Mass of Christian Burial for Hector Torres was celebrated on Wednesday, November 17 at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, Far Rockaway.

A resident of Far Rockaway since 1988, Hector was born in Puerto Rico and came from Florida.

Hector died on November 14, 1999.

He served in the army from 1965-1967 and left as a corporal.

He is survived by wife Minerva (nee Hernandez); mother and father Blanca and Jose; son Hector jr.; daughter Minerva; brothers Manuel, Harry, and Jose; sisters Myrna, Nellie, Evette, Nancy and Nydia; and one grandchild.

Interment under the direction of Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home, Inc., of Rockaway Beach was held at Calverton National Cemetery, Long Island.
