Teal Victorious Over White
By Buddy Woods
Teamwork, aggressive offense, and terrific goaltending helped Teal to an
impressive 11-2 victory against White on Sunday. After scoring nine goals in their first game, Teal continued it's strong offensive attack by keeping the puck in the White zone the first two periods. Sean Siederman led Teal's scoring by getting his second hat trick in two games and finished the day with an impressive six goals. Jason Perrone, Brendan Mead and Joseph Durante (two goals) also kept their consecutive goal scoring records alive by each scoring unassisted goals. Thomas Gersh rounded out the scoring for Teal and netted his first career goal.
The offensive attack was not to be outdone by the splendid defensive effort. Rookie goaltender Stephen Harrs was called upon five minutes before the game started to be goalie. In his first goalie debut, Stephen, with defensive help from Andrew Harrs, Brian Woods, Jonathan Michaels, Thomas Siederman and Nathaniel Jean Pierre, held the White team to two goals. They were helped by strong all
around play from Chris Forman and Michael Brennan.
First year coach, Jim Higgins, has done a great job bringing this young team together. His coaching, along with the team’s enthusiasm, has made this team exciting and fun to watch.
