Edward J. Coard, From Arverne

Edward J. Coard died Friday, October 22, 1999 in his residence in Arverne.

Edward lived in Arverne for four and a half years, coming from Jamaica, Queens.

He was born in Baltimore, Maryland.

Edward served in the US Airforce. He later worked for New York City Transit as a conductor and flagman.

He is survived by daughters Allisicia Coard and Janie Byrn; step-son Tony Chapman; step-daughters Tammy Torres, Terry Patterson and Patricia King; and 10 grandchildren.

Services were held at Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home, Inc., of Rockaway Park. Interment was held at Pinelawn Cemetery, Long Island.

Martin J. Fabry, Rockaway Resident

Mass of Christian Burial for Martin J. Fabry will be held on Monday, November 1 at St. Francis De Sales.

He died October 27 in his residence.

Martin was a lifetime Rockaway resident who worked as a packer in the moving and storage industry.

He is survived by his wife Barbara (Chase); sons John and Brian; daughters Renee McKeown and Jacqueline Fabry; and grandson Eric Matthew.

Interment under the direction of Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home, Inc., will be held at St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale.

Thomas M. Moffitt Sr.

Loved By Many

Mass of Christian Burial for Thomas M. Moffitt Sr. was held on Friday, October 29 at St. Rose of Lima Church.

He died Tuesday, October 26 in North Shore Medical Center in Forest Hills.

Thomas served in the US Army from 1943-1945 and came out a sergeant.

He was a police officer for the New York Police Department.

From 1953-1973 he served in Safety Division B in Manhattan.

Thomas is survived by his wife Anna J. (nee Kolm); sons Mike, Thomas jr. and James; daughters Nancy Anzelone and Lorraine Cassillo; sister Elizabeth O’Hara; 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He is predeceased by his son Peter; daughter Linda Sullivan; and brothers James and John.

Interment under the direction of Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home, Inc., was held at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton.

Kathleen A. Provence

Rockaway Resident

Mass of Christian Burial for Kathleen A. (Nicholson) Provence was held on Monday, October 25 at St. Camillus Church, Rockaway Park.

She died Friday, October 22 in Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital.

Kathleen was a lifetime Rockaway Beach resident. She was the long-time secretary to Thomas Burn of Donnelly Plumbing Co.

She is predeceased by her mother the late Hanoragh.

Kathleen is survived by her father Frank; cousins Tommy and Eva Nicholson, Eileen Richmond, Linda and Mark Powell, John and Monica Jewidowicz, Danny and Mary Miceli, Don Miceli, Jack and Diane Marchewka, Dave and Denise Fedorow, Mary and Hugh Toland and Vera and Tommy Cahill.

Interment under the direction of Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home, Inc., was held at Calvery Cemetery, Woodside.
