Burglars Take The Safe

Mini-Mart Clipped for $57,000

By Joan Ward George

Owners of a mini-supermarket located near Beach 40 street and Beach Channel drive couldn’t believe their eyes early Saturday when they discovered that their safe had been removed from a back room of their store.

Detectives from the 101 Precinct responded to the scene and determined that that the safe was taken out through a back entrance by a gang of burglars who removed the safe from the mini-market sometime after the store was closed for business the evening before.

Since it is believed that the burglary was a well planned plot, police are looking to the community for any information on the streets that may lead to the apprehension of the burglars. The case has been assigned to Detective Carrano of the 101 Precinct Detective Squad. Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to call the squad at 868-3429.
